Structural Design Solutions was established in 2005 after we recognised a need in the industry for a service which was based on solid relationships and giving clients the experience they paid for.

The development site comprises 6 super lots located off Silverwater Road and along the Parramatta River. The AE2 site, which the 6 super lots from part of, was a former Defence site (naval base) that has and is continuing to be redeveloped by Defence Housing Australia.
In total there will be some 600 units, with buildings ranging from 4/5 storeys along the waterfront and 5-8 storeys along Silverwater Rd. A total of 9 buildings will be constructed.
Structural Design Solutions has been engaged to provide full structural engineering design services for this project.

building will be a post tensioned and reinforced concrete structure which will also be
heavily reliant on precast to achieve the seminally random appearance of the building
fagade. Geotechnical investigations, wind modelling and advanced modelling core
design have been invaluable to achieving an economical and buildable structural
outcome. Structural Design Solutions have been engaged for full Structural and Civil
design documentation.

The high-rise building, called Sanbano Southport, will be 51 storeys high and will

and a medical centre. A total of 555 residential apartments will be available, including
a mixture of bedsit and three bedroom properties. Included in the building will be 467
square metres of retail floor space, and further 924 square metres of commercial floor
space. Structural Design Solutions have been engaged for full Structural and Civil

o Soldier pile retaining wall with shotcrete infill panels and
     temporary rock anchors used as shoring design.

recently sold for $7.7m and two penthouses in this development have
achieved a top 20 sale for Sydney.

side-by-side car park spaces and one penthouse on 604 l-f12. The second
tower is to comprise 23 apartments including seven one bedders in addition
to seven two bedroom plus multipurpose room units and six whole floor
abodes and also has one penthouse with a rooftop deck and pool.

61 York St, SYDNEY
This project consisted of l basement retail/plant level, ground level retail and
16 levels of commercial over. The building footprint was only 12m wide x 24m
long. A rail easement for two future rail tunnels was 0.5m directly under the
site and impacted one half of the site, an area 10m x the full 12m width. The
existing North Shore and City Circle rail lines were located directly under York
St in front of our site only 2m from our basement.
The key structural engineering features of this project are:
0   16-storey building only cantilevered 5m over the tunnels
o  Reinforced concrete walls designed as deep beams to cantilever
o Rail Infrastructure Corridor Services (RICS) and independent
    engineer approval

  o  Anchoring restrictions limited shoring systems
  o  Cantilevered sheet piling was used were we could
 o  Cantilever piers and shotcrete infill panel used for shoring in
     some areas

CLOVELLY HOTEL
A extensive structural overhaul was required to turn this heritage listed
Sydney iconic hotel building into a fully renovated Pub with Ground floor
Retail at the top of the hill. The project consisted removing a number of
structural columns throughout the building to allow for large clear open spans.
Existing floors were structurally strengthened, and existing walls, floors and
structural elements modified.
The key structural engineering features of this project are:
        o   Reuse of the existing Pub structure
          o   Additional level added over existing Structure
        o   Removal of existing structure to allow large clear open spans

      o  Minimising transferring Structure through various uses
